FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
And T&C's
WHAT DOCUMENTS, INSURANCE & BREAKDOWN COVER DO I NEED?
You will need to bring your driving licence, V5, MOT and a valid insurance certificate with you. Originals not copies. This has to include ‘green card’ cover in Europe. You should also purchase breakdown cover valid for Europe which includes repatriation of you and your bike. You will also need travel insurance for yourself should you become ill, break your camera etc.
Oh and for Europe, don't forget your PASSPORT which should have a minimum of 7 months remaining.
WHAT DO I NEED TO ARRANGE?
We advise that you let your bank know you are travelling to Europe. Our information pack will lead you through all advisory arrangements you should make before embarking on your tour. You also need to arrange breakdown cover and check your insurance (see separate FAQ)
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY ON TOUR?
A typical day includes riding from about 9 am through to 5 pm. We aim to include a substantial midday break for lunch as well as frequent coffee breaks and leg stretches. If we have planned stops and visits then there is ample time to wander and check out the attractions. Once at the evening's hotel we find most riders choose to stick together, either dining in the hotel or finding restaurants and bars locally but the night is ultimately your own.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
We get wet. Seriously though, wet weather riding gear is essential if we get caught out. Advice on this and more is in your Tour Welcome Pack.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN WITH THE TOUR?
Your tour price includes all accommodation & breakfasts. Any channel crossing (tunnel or ferry).
Your specific 'tour info' pack and 'general info' pack are included along with full support from our team to answer any questions you have on the lead-up and a GPS file (GPX) for your Sat Nav. You will also receive a Tour t-shirt.
We do NOT include péage or vignettes. These are payable by the rider. We aim to avoid those roads whenever possible but sometimes travelling on such roads becomes necessary.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PACK?
A list of items that are 'mandatory' and a list of 'advisable' items are provided with your info pack. There is nothing out of the ordinary. Moto Ventura Provides the Rubber Chicken.
HOW DO WE ALL KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING?
We use a proven convoy and drop-off method to keep everyone on the correct route.
It’s a bit of fun and is explained thoroughly on your welcome pack as well as at your Tour Briefing.
DO I HAVE TO RIDE WITH THE GROUP?
No, not at all although we would certainly encourage you to stay with the group and we find that people usually prefer to, but if you want to go on ahead and meet later that’s fine. Just be sure to let us know at the start of the day if you're planning to ride alone.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE & RIDER EXPERIENCE YOU ALLOW TO COME?
We allow all riders with a full licence. Our guides are used to coaching newer and born-again bikers and are happy to offer advice for anyone asking for it, otherwise, we respect space and let you 'Ride Your Own Ride'.
The minimum age for riders and pillions is 18 years.
GENERAL MOTORCYCLE ADVICE
You must ride a motorcycle which you are comfortable on and familiar with. We ask that it is a healthy well-maintained machine of at least 500cc.
More advice is included in our 'Information Pack'.
WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER RIDDEN IN EUROPE BEFORE?
Then you are going to have a brilliant time! We will make your trip stress free.
If you are a little daunted you can stick close to our guide but most of the roads in Europe are maintained far better than those in the UK. Traffic is usually far lighter too.
Generally, motorcyclists are well respected by other motorists in Europe and you will find many cars pulling to the side to allow you to pass. You will also get lots of waves and smiles from people along the way.
A motorcycle really is the best way to see Europe! Come find out why.
