With the news giving constant updates on the War in Ukraine you would be forgiven for the situation becoming 'normalised', but have you stopped to think just how close Ukraine is?
Having spent lots of time in Kyiv, Kharkiv and on the Black Sea, with friends in Ukraine, I wanted to do something to highlight the distance and the urgent need for your/our/my continued support.
For my 50th year on planet Earth, I am riding my trusty BMW R1200GSA to the Poland/Ukraine border.
I aim to ride the 1066 (approx) miles from Calais to the Poland/Ukraine border in under 24 hours to highlight how close this is to all of us.
I will deliver 50 IFAK Medical Packs which will be collected and immediately distributed to the frontline.
Packs contain vital life-saving equipment, including 2x Torniquets, Nasopharyngeal Airways, Vented Chest Seals, Tactical Markers, Haemostat Agent, Compressed Gauze, and lots more. The packs are designed to fit directly onto the outer clothing for quick access by the casualty or person close by.
Vertu Motorrad Exeter has kindly offered to service and safety check the motorcycle before I leave.
Michelin UK have kindly donated a pair of Road-6 tyres for the motorcycle
Hotel De'Medici in Brugge has kindly donated a room and breakfast for one of my nights on the return trip.
